James Edwards

James Edwards is a black belt instructor with the BMMA and is a former Royal Marine Commando. When he entered the marines at the age of 19 James completed the gruelling 9 month Commando Training Course at Lympstone, Devon as an original member of his recruit troop.

On completion of his training he was drafted to 42 Commando Royal Marines and made a number of trips to Norway and became a military ski instructor teaching other members of the Royal Marines how to live and survive and enjoy life in arctic conditions.

James left the Royal Marines in April 2000 and had been working as an Operations Manager within the security industry and still practicing martial art. After that he started his training in traditional Ju-Jitsu and started training in Boxing, Kickboxing and finally completed the BMMA L2 martial arts instructor course.

The classes in Stoke-On-Trent are fun and friendly and designed to get you working outside of your comfort zone in order that you achieve maximum results! James uses his experiences as a soldier and security manager to ensure that all his students are trained in self-protection and are fit and healthy enough to enjoy and live their lives to the full.
